The European Climate Change Adaptation 2025 (ECCA2025) is one of the largest conferences on climate change adaptation and held every two years in Europe since 2013. This year’s edition will take place in Rimini, Italy, from 16 to 18 June 2025.
ECCA 2025 brings together interested parties from science, politics and various practitioners, including stakeholders, non-governmental organisations and decision-makers, to promote adaptation to climate change at the global and local level. The conference presents fundamental new research findings as well as implementation experiences from adaptation projects.

Description

CINEA will participate with a European stand joining forces with MIP4ADAPT where visitors will be able to learn more about the European funding opportunities and initiatives in climate change adaptation. Several project beneficiaries will present their innovative results different sessions during the three days.
CINEA and other EU initiatives managed by CINEA will also organise the following sessions:
- Institutional opening and welcoming remarks – 16 June, 15:00-16:30 – with the participation of Matthias Langemeyer, Head of Green research and Innovation Department, European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).
- Turning knowledge into adaptation action: lessons learnt, barriers and enablers through the experience of EU-funded projects – 17 June, 11:00-12:30 (organised by CINEA).
- Cross-sectoral and multi-scale climate services - upscaling of mitigation and adaptation actions – 17 June, 11:00-12:30 (organised by RethinkAction, REACHOUT, I-CISK and LOCALISED).
- Innovative solutions for climate change adaptation in coastal areas: when Green and Digital tools meet Living Labs - 17 June, 14:00-16:30 (SCORE’s Final Event)
- Empowering Citizens through Climate Assemblies: Promoting engagement in climate change adaptation – 17 June, 14:30-16:00 (presenting CLIMAS projects results).
- Scaling Innovative Adaptation Finance Solutions: Transference of Financial Structures and Instrument – 17 June, 16:30-18:30 (speakers from EU funded projects: ARCADIA, CARDIMED, CLIMATEFIT, NATALIE, REGILIENCE, SOTERIA, and chaired by MIP4Adapt).
- Strategies and Tools for Improving Infrastructure Resilience in Multi-Hazard contexts, 18 June, 09:00-10:30 (led by ICARIA, RISKADAPT, MIRACA).
- Fostering an EU Enabling Ecosystem to Close the European Adaptation Finance Gap – 18 June, 12:00-13:30 (presenting Pathways2Resilience and CLIMATEFIT’s work).
Businesses, governments, public institutions, NGOs, academia, researchers, and EU citizens interested in climate change adaptation affairs are invited to take part in the numerous activities organised during the three-day conference.
